RfrontSix months ago The Respect Paper said of Gordon Brown that he “Robs from the poor, gives to the rich”. Never in our worst nightmares did we imagine how quickly, or how badly, Gordo would turn gangster on us.

The bankers of the world have gambled away trillions on the casino of the world’s markets.

In the process they broke the global financial system and have caused the worst economic slump since the 1930s. And what has Brown’s government done about this?

It has bailed out the bankers to the tune of hundreds of billions of pounds. Have the bankers been punished? No, they are being allowed to get away with their dirty cash.

Fred Goodwin, one of the wreckers of RBS, is retiring on a pension that is beyond the wildest dreams of most ordinary people. And that is just the tip of the iceberg. Thousands of other bankers are loading their pockets as they cut and run.

Apparently there has boom in male cosmetic surgery in London as redundant City traders cheer themselves up with a face lift. Millions of ordinary people are going to be made to pay for all this.

The massive mound of debt taken on by the government will be paid back by tax payers for a generation to come, whilst having to put up with public services slashed to the bone. And all this whilst Brown’s government gets ready to hand back the banks they had to bail out, to the people who broke them in the first place.

We are only nine years into the 21st century and already the one of the greatest acts of theft in history has been committed. Grand Theft Gordo.
