Tickets for Grinderman went on sale at 9am on Friday. I tried
to get one yesterday morning but they had sold out.

No such disappointment for fans of George Galloway.
They are giving away free tickets to his show tonight in the Hackney Empire.

Under socialism it will be common practice for popular entertainers to
perform for free and it’s good to see my MP leading by example.

Here’s the text of an e mail advertising the show.

Unfortunately a long planned engagement with three or four pints of London
Pride prevent me from going but I’m willing to carry a review from anyone
who does attend.

An evening with George Galloway tonight at the Hackney Empire at 7pm
Free for all Respect members
George Galloway is doing one of his famous 'evenings with' tonight at
the Hackney Empire,Mare Street, Hackney. He will be on stage for two
hours delivering a combination of politics and humour and answering
questions from the audience.
George invites Respect members to join him tonight. This is a paying
event for the public to cover the costs of the hire of the Hackney Empire but it is
now absolutely free for Respect members.
Just bring your Respect membership card or alternatively come to the
box office and say that you are on Ron McKay's guest list.
We hope to see you there tonight for an evening with George in somewhat
different circumstances from those you might have seen George in before.

By way of consolation here's a Grinderman video. Rude but brilliant.

  1. “a comination of politics and humour”: if you like a sick joke who’s “politics” is strasserite communalism and vainglorious self-aggrandisement.

Thanks Tami. Giraffe shagging videos are a bit of a niche market demographic and I thought I’d try to cater for it in a bid for easy popularity. They are such misunderstood people. Like the AWL.The track is the best song released so far this year. Some people say Nick Cave is morose but this is really funny.

  6. I think the tragedy for the AWL is not that they are misunderstood, but that they are all to well understood.
