The day will give an opportunity to explore a questions including:


  • Women in the 21st Century – how does globalisation affect women’s lives?
  • Why do Marxists think the role of the family is key to women’s oppression?
  • What shape is the family in today?
  • What is socialist feminism?
  • What is third wave feminism?
  • Was the women’s liberation movement of the 70s and 80s just a load of white middle class women?
  • Why control of our bodies is central to control our lives?
  • How can we fight violence against women?Women, religion and dress codes
  • Why are women paid less than men?
  • Women at the sharp edge of climate change
  • What is the relation between women’s oppression and LGBT oppression?
  • What role do men need to play in fighting for women’s lib­eration?
