In a desperate attempt to fit into the mainstream of modern political discourse I thought it would be a good idea to have a quick survey of readers’ opinions on where to wield the axe on public spending. The Economist this week has a brainstorming piece on what cuts the next government can make and I’ve added some suggestions to their list. You can contribute your own as well. The plan is to get the four most popular choices into the election manifesto of whatever left formation enters the electoral lists next year.
