Our intrepid news reporters will bring you all the results and left wing analysis you need for the election!  You’ll be able to find the results, analysis and debate in our comments section.

The Scottish Socialist Party have been supported by Socialist Resistance since its foundation and in many ways was a model for the sort of multi tendency left wing party we favour, particularly following its breakthrough winning six seats in the Scottish Parliament.  However the party was badly split by the Sheridan affair and suffered electorally.  It is now trying to build back its activity by running a modest campaign around 10 candidates in the General Election.  We are only expecting modest results here with, hopefully, former MSPs, Colin Fox in Edinburgh and Frances Curran in Glasgow beginning the electoral improvement.  The SSP and TUSC are contesting one seat against each other – Glasgow North East.

    “Labour have taken Glasgow Central with a 10,000 majority. SSP took 357 votes in Gla Central”

    between TUSC and SSP in Scotland I am getting:

    SSP 2889 (avg of 288.9)
    TUSC 3162 (avg of 316.2 or 247.89 if you remove the Sheridan effect)

    depressing but as expected

    Still Aberdeen North, Edin North East and Inverness to declare

    Good to see the SSP taking a mauling and finishing beneath the BNP in every ward where both Parties have stood.

    Seems as if the Scottish public are waking up slowly but surely.
