The Wind That Shakes The Barley SR forum

Here’s an advert I made for the Socialist Resistance forum with Paul Laverty. Watch out Ken Loach and Martin Scorsese. Anyone who thinks that General Sir Richard Dannatt is part of the anti-war movement would do well to get the dvd of The Wind That Shakes the Barley when it’s released next month. This little video is something I cobbled together. Oró Sé Do Bheath ‘Bhaile is the song the IRA volunteers sing walking over the mountain as they go looking for British soldiers to kill.

Part of me thinks I should be reading Trotsky or trying to make some sense out of Althusser instead of doing this but I know in my heart I’d only be playing Cossacks or Age of Empires instead.

  1. I like your advert. I want to see this movie, so bad. I sort of doubt Mark will be enthused by it. Maybe I can get B. to watch it with me. The music is nice… do you have it in MP3 form? Hint, hint. And did you like your portrait?
